Johnstown Police Department Responds to School Bus Bomb Threat, No Device Was Located

Johnstown, CO – April 26, 2024

On Friday, April 26th, the Johnstown Police Department responded to Sticker Stadium following reports of a bomb threat aboard a RE-5J school bus.  All occupants were evacuated from the bus and officers conducted a thorough search of the bus, including all bags, backpacks, and compartments.  In addition, the K9 detection unit was deployed for a comprehensive sweep of the vehicle.  No dangerous or suspicious materials were located.

Occupants were safely released to their guardians or the custody of RE-5J School District.  There is no ongoing threat and JPD is collaborating closely with the RE-5J School District to address the situation.
